About the Author
Jim Hasenau is one of the few writers
whose building books are based on many personal experiences in the
construction of hundreds of homes. This includes acquisition of
real estate, sales of property, handling of financing, design of
homes and actual construction.
As a young man he served his trade apprenticeship,
starting at twelve years old, in wood model and pattern making,
working in and around Detroit, Michigan. After serving as a celestial
navigation teacher in the Air Force, he obtained a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Michigan with majors in science and engineering.
He then joined his father in the building
of homes and apartments, starting from the sewer up, as his two
sons are now doing.
"After fifty years in the family
business, one still learns something new about building every day.",
Hasenau says.
